Our Mission & Vision

The roll of the AIA:

As an Approved Inspection Authority we conducts investigations and audit inspections on behalf of the
general public.

The Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993/ (Act No. 85 of 1993) more specifically Electrical Installation
Regulation of 2009, defines an Approved Inspection Authority as: An inspection authority approved by the chief inspector:

Provided that an inspection authority approved by the chief inspector with respect to any particular service
shall be an Approved Inspection Authority with respect to that service only to the inspection and test of the
electrical installation to the standard (example SANS 10142-1) and as per the Occupational Health and
Safety Act, 1993/ (Act No. 85 of 1993) more specifically Electrical Installation Regulation of 2009.

legislative and regulative conformance in South Africa.
